Appellants ex-girlfriend, Lisa Cleveland, claimed that appellant abducted her on March 5, 2006, and confined her until she escaped on March 24, 2006. During the course of the abduction, appellant burned Cleveland on the back with a torch and locked her in his grandmothers old trunk. Although the pair left appellants house on several occasions, Cleveland did not seek help or escape because of appellants threats.
